Once upon the time, I used to travel a lot for my company. So my black shoes were wearing out quickly. After the COVID pandemic, however, business trips are a rarity. My last one was in June. And I did wear a pair of brand new black shoes, that I had thought to acquire before the trip.
All summer the black shoes were on a shoe-shelf. Or so I thought- I didn’t look there as I wore only sneakers or hiking boots.
Tomorrow I am scheduled to go to a customer. Packing is a big challenge so I left it until the evening. I thought I would polish the black shoes. But they are not were I left them.
There’s no mysterious shoe in my apartment. The explanation is simple. A gave a room to an orphan boy who having tuned 18 had to leave the orphanage but had nowhere to go. This is over, he lives now in another city. But moving out, he “borrowed” my shoes and “forgot” to tell me.
Luckily for me, I still have the worn pair of shoes. I think I can make them usable. They look good on the outside, but the bottom is where the wear is. I hope the floors at the customer are not too polished…
