Hope all of you are doing good! When I buy curtain fabrics for my home, I always see to it that I get extra meters or yards of the materials. This is just in case I make a mistake in the calculation of the curtain panels.
I made all the curtains in our 2nd home in Andalucia, Southern Spain. Having it customized would have cost a lot of money for 8 huge windows and doors. The most difficult part is the procurement of materials as there are not much stores to buy the fabrics at. There had been one available shop near the Malaga Airport which is 60 kms from where we are. The store sold discontinued fabrics so if you miscalculate your materials required, then your project is im nu.
Rest fabric for the two pillowcases...
Here, I am showing you one of two canopies I made for the master bedroom and one for the guest bedroom. I used blue fabrics for the inner part of the canopy and when it was done, the fabric allowance was good enough to make two pillowcases.
So the size of the pillows were measured and I cut the fabrics according to the size + added a few centimeters as sewing allowance for three sides.
I am also hoarding old laces which I bought from the Saturday flea market in Vienna and add them into my lace stash and made ready whenever the time arises to use them. If you remember, I made some crochet laces in advance and when I made the two white quilted pillows, I used the laces there.
So these pillowcases were a made do project, no definite plan to make them, but I am glad, the old dainty laces made the pillowcases a bit romantic.
So I saved a lot of money doing the soft furnishings for my home. The hoarding of some small crafters materials are essential for me as I do not need to go out and search for them in shops. It not only save time, it also saves money.
