I almost held myself back from seeing this movie because I had a bad feeling about the title, so much act for a person making a review about it already, don't you think? Well, the holding back I felt was the pushing force to see the movie anyways... Not sure if that came out right hehe.
Anyways, it's nice to be back with another review even though it's been long I did one. I've been seeing lots of movies and this one just popped into my head when I thought of doing a movie review today.
What did you feel the movie would be like when you first read the title?
I thought it would be very creepy and full of the impossible (not my favourite kind of movies) but I started the movie regardless, and honestly I don't regret seeing the movie but I've got to say my mind on it... What a sad happy ending it had!
Okay, maybe I should talk about the movie a little before I pour out my broken heart about the movie 😂 it really did broke my heart but not so badly though.
The In-between is a movie acted based on a novel written by an author Marc Klein and it's also based on true story of tragic death of an ex-girlfriend almost 15 years ago. It was directed by Arie Posin and was released in February.
The movie was starred by amazing actors and actress, the lead actress is one of the producers of the movie... That lady is amazing really.
Synopsis
The In-between is about a girl who found love even when she never believed in true love, she met a very romantic guy who later died from an accident leaving the girl to pain and hurt.
His quest to connect with his girlfriend again through the in-between world gives out so many intriguing scenes as they strive to give their love a deserving ending.
It also shows the love of photography and the love of foster parents to an orphan girl. Also about friendship that was tested to believe there is an in-between life.
The movie also takes one through a supernatural love story mixed with a hurting past and pains. It shows also the importance of saying the words sometimes.
The Characters of the movie
Tessa, starred by Joey King is the lead actor of the movie. A teenage girl living with her foster parents but yet to feel love for them as she didn't believe in love.
She's a good photographer that thinks she isn't good enough, she takes pictures of things but never thought of taking pictures of humans which her teacher at school pointed out to her.
Her believe in love changed after she met a very romantic handsome guy who later died and tried to connect with her from the after world. Her desire to meet one last time changed her thoughts about so many things in her life.
Skylar, starred by Kyle Allen is the lead actor in the movie. He is a handsome teenager who is good in speaking Spanish, French. He knows about his parents Marita problem but didn't let it make him sad.
He met a girl at a movie theater and became so in love with her. He acknowledged her work of art in photography but giving a helping hand to take her a step higher led to a fight that later cost his life.
His love for Tessa and the quest to show her how it ended before his death, he tried to connect with her from the after life which he succeeded in after many trials.
Shannon starred by Celeste O' Connor, the best friend to Tessa and the second person who believed her friend was having a supernatural connection with her dead boyfriend.
She tried many means to help her friend connect with Skylar but failed until the right time came and she was there to help out.
Her sense of humor is something else, a thing I couldn't help but notice as she made me smile even while seeing a tragic love movie.
Doris starred by Donna Biscoe, a too spiritual old lady who believes so much in the after death communication. She knew about Tessa and offered to help by sharing a book she had written about the after life.
She later led them together by leaving clues for Tessa to follow.
My thoughts about the movie
Seeing how it started
A girl taking pictures and going into a cinema alone to see a movie. I thought I was in for a somewhat boring and predictable movie which later proved me wrong. I laughed at the conversation they had when the two lovers first met at the cinema house.
The movie wasn't bad after all... So I thought until it started taking me back and forth what had happened and what was happening between the two. It was confusing at first until I understand it fully well to know it was showing me the past so I could get a better grasp of what they were about to show me in the present.
The scifi scenes in the movie was impressive too, they made the afterlife (in-between) looked so real and I almost felt myself acting in it. The cinematography was good enough especially when she took pictures... The sights are beautiful.
Now, this is my heartbreaking scene 😢 or maybe I was wishing for a more supernatural scene where the dead Skylar came back to life and to his love, Tessa. But no, the whole struggle to meet in-between was to give a more deserving end to their love.
They finally met in-between and had a good time if their life, got separated with Tessa going back to life to give a happy ending to their love life... What kind of happy ending has a death of the loved one? I can't seem to see much happiness there but that was point they were trying to make and I think I got it.
I only wish... If only, they had given it a more supernatural touch to bring back Skylar to life, I'd love the movie more 😁 I love happy happy endings, not sad happy endings.

Casi me abstuve de ver esta película porque tenía un mal presentimiento sobre el título, mucho acto para una persona que ya está haciendo una reseña al respecto, ¿no crees? Bueno, la contención que sentí fue el empujón. fuerza para ver la película de todos modos... No estoy seguro si salió bien jeje.
De todos modos, es bueno estar de vuelta con otra revisión a pesar de que hace mucho tiempo que hice una. He estado viendo muchas películas y esta se me vino a la cabeza cuando pensé en hacer una reseña de una película hoy.
¿Cómo sentiste que sería la película cuando leíste el título por primera vez?
Pensé que sería muy espeluznante y lleno de lo imposible (no es mi tipo de películas favoritas) pero comencé la película de todos modos y, sinceramente, no me arrepiento de haberla visto, pero tengo que decir lo que pienso. ... ¡Qué triste final feliz tuvo!
De acuerdo, tal vez debería hablar un poco sobre la película antes de derramar mi corazón roto sobre la película 😂 realmente me rompió el corazón, pero no tanto.

Su amor por Tessa y la búsqueda para mostrarle cómo terminó antes de su muerte, trató de conectarse con ella desde el más allá, lo que logró después de muchas pruebas.
Shannon protagonizada por Celeste O' Connor, la mejor amiga de Tessa y la segunda persona que creía que su amiga estaba teniendo una conexión sobrenatural con su novio muerto.
Intentó muchos medios para ayudar a su amiga a conectarse con Skylar, pero fracasó hasta que llegó el momento adecuado y ella estaba allí para ayudar.
Su sentido del humor es algo más, algo que no pude evitar notar ya que me hizo sonreír incluso mientras veía una trágica película de amor.
Doris protagonizada por Donna Biscoe, una anciana demasiado espiritual que cree mucho en la comunicación después de la muerte. Sabía de Tessa y se ofreció a ayudar compartiendo un libro que había escrito sobre la vida después de la muerte.
Más tarde los condujo juntos dejando pistas para que Tessa las siguiera.
Mis pensamientos sobre la película
viendo como empezó
Una chica haciendo fotos y entrando sola en un cine a ver una película. Pensé que me esperaba una película algo aburrida y predecible que luego demostró que estaba equivocado. Me reí de la conversación que tuvieron cuando los dos amantes se conocieron en el cine.
La película no estuvo mal después de todo... Así pensé hasta que empezó a llevarme de un lado a otro lo que había pasado y lo que estaba pasando entre los dos. Fue confuso al principio hasta que lo entendí completamente bien para saber que me estaba mostrando el pasado para poder tener una mejor comprensión de lo que estaban a punto de mostrarme en el presente.
Las escenas de ciencia ficción en la película también fueron impresionantes, hicieron que la otra vida (en el medio) pareciera tan real y casi me sentí actuando en ella. La cinematografía fue lo suficientemente buena, especialmente cuando tomó fotografías... Las vistas son hermosas.
Ahora, esta es mi escena desgarradora 😢 o tal vez estaba deseando una escena más sobrenatural donde el Skylar muerto volvió a la vida y a su amor, Tessa. Pero no, toda la lucha por encontrarse en el medio fue para darle un final más digno a su amor.
Finalmente se encontraron en el medio y la pasaron bien si su vida, se separó con Tessa volviendo a la vida para darle un final feliz a su vida amorosa... ¿Qué tipo de final feliz tiene la muerte del ser amado? Parece que no puedo ver mucha felicidad allí, pero ese era el punto que estaban tratando de hacer y creo que lo entendí.
Ojalá... Si tan solo le hubieran dado un toque más sobrenatural para devolverle la vida a Skylar, me encantaría más la película 😁 Me encantan los finales felices felices, no los finales felices tristes.
