As a graduate, I would say school broke, mend and beautify the person I am today and the one thing that did all that work is the experience I had as a student. To be a student away from home with different people, new guardians and new rules, isn't easy but the experience it gives is one thing to be grateful for.
I spent four years living on my own to finish through school and the one thing I learnt faster is being independent and thoughtful for myself.

There were good times while in school but there were also the bad times when I wish school could end soon so I'd be free from all it's stress especially with the high fees and lecturers wahala. But all that, I was made to prepare for so they didn't come as surprise even though some were overwhelming.
I've got a lot of experience that I enjoyed as a student and I'm grateful for. I'll share some and how they have affected my life till today.
Independency: If I didn't go to school that was away from my family, I wouldn't have learnt so much about caring for myself and thinking up ways to earn money. How I went about taking up responsibilities for myself and even for family and friends around, is all thanks to the fact I was once a student.
Freedom: I wouldn't say freedom and being independent are same as I did had some things I depended on my family to get done while I was in school but I was very free to decide how to make use of whatever I got or earned while in school. Having so much freedom didn't make me go astray with my studies but instead, I learnt better now to know how to use my freedom for something benefiting to me.
First time in many things: A lot of things I know now, I learnt first in school and I am very sure I wouldn't have known them if there was no school or I didn't let myself go through it. Even though there were some firsts I decided not to try, the ones I did has played significant roles in my life today. The freedom and independence were the main boost.
I got to learn time management, punctuality, savings, problem solving and grow my own wealth while studying in school. These didn't come quickly or were they learnt easily, I had to face series of challenges to learn them one after the other. So it really isn't about what I learnt but the process of learning them that influence my life today for good.
School was not as fun as they made it out to be for me before I went to one but it definitely changed a lot of mediocre mindsets I had while growing up while polishing from my pronunciations to my sense of reasoning and even down to what life really means out there. School challenges and fun were the experiences I had as a student that I am grateful for today.
