Everyday I'm alive is another chance at life and another day to make things work for myself, family and friends. Another chance to love, to forgive, to sing and most importantly, to live life with a grateful heart. One of the many things I woke up to be more grateful for today is, For the life of my dad who added a year today.
I'm definitely a birthday person, one who is excited to add a new age or celebrate with others when they do. This doesn't mean I don't feel all that grateful everyday for a new day, I just feel days like this are special because it is a reminder of the day a human was born.
One special sentence I love to hear during birthdays and would be so happy to tell dad today is... Thanks for being born!!!
I saw a movie where this simple but magical sentence made one add more value to his life and lived better. Not everyone appreciates the fact that they were born so imagine another thanking them for being born, telling them that their birth has been a positive effect in others life. It works so beautifully in their lives and they tend to have more reasons to live and love happily.
If there is only one person I'll choose first that made me who I am today, it is my dad.
We didn't get the chance to grow with our mum, dad was both our mum and dad together. And believe me when I say he played those roles so well that I actually began to wonder at some point if he knew all these would happen to him before they did. We didn't feel mum's absence as I've seen people do when they are separated from their mum. Dad has been the best any child would wish to have.
Dad's our biggest fan and supporter.
Dad loves music, he enjoys to sing but what he loves most is hearing his children sing. My siblings and I have always loved to sing from childhood, I bet it rubbed off on us from dad as a lover of music for as long as I can remember. When we begin any music adventure, dad would always cheer for us and make sure to provide whatever we would need just so we don't feel any kind demotivation.
I can still remember how he boasts about his children wherever he finds himself, he would make us sing to his friends and they would all be like "Lawrence, you're so lucky! and we'd smile so happily to know that our dad is super happy to have us as his kids. Never for once has it ever come to thought that dad is tired of taking care of us alone, he never gave room for that.
Dear Dad, I love you so much and appreciate everything you've done for our family. No love can replace the love you have for us and same goes for the love we have for you.
Grow old, in health, in success and enjoy all the plans your children have for you because you deserve all the good things that life has got to offer.
Happy birthday to you and to the day God thought of this family to let grandma birth you 😊
