LOH CONTEST #123-THE REASON WHY SOME PEOPLE FIND IT HARD TO MAKE REAL CONNECTIONS
A lot of people are lonely nowadays because of one situation or another. It may be as a result of the bad things people do to them or the tough life situations that life shows them.
Loneliness can kill as it eats up a person from the inside until it affects their whole system and renders them useless or not able to do meaningful things for their life. Loneliness is bad, and I have been there before. There was a time I was always indoors with nobody to talk to. I didn’t even have a mobile phone then and all I did was think and sleep, which had some negative effects on my life. Thank God I was able to come out of my loneliness shell when I gained admission to university and connected with people.
Connecting with people may look
easy to some, but to others it’s not. Some people find it hard to make a real connection with people for so many reasons, and among these many reasons are
Trust issues
Connecting with a person means you will be able to share one or two things that will be bothering you with them or anything that you might want to discuss with them, but the fear of the person leaking out those discussions to another person or to the media won't make a person feel free to connect with them.
The belief that it's better to be alone than not being valued
There are some people who believe it's better to be alone. Doing that will make them be on their own, minding their own business, to avoid the trash that most connections with some people cause.
Past situations
Yes, there are some situations where those people have a connection with a person or people who hurt them or did something bad to them. The fear that the same situation will happen again will make them stay away from people.
Parents' or guardian's upbringing
Some children that are brought up by strict parents find it difficult to connect with people when they grow up because some of them are trained in a house with gates that are fenced, and this always makes them stay at home all day. This affects them as they grow up because they want to continue the lifestyle they were used to. I was somehow trained this way too, and to be sincere. Making a REAL connection with people was not that easy for me, and it took me a lot of time before I could do that, but I am glad I was able to at last.
