Very delicate situation I have to say. But here's the ugly truth about relationship dynamics. You determine what works for you and what doesn't. External output in the end doesn't really matter.
It's very useful for you to imagine how would everything be, if roles were flipped. When you do this mental experiment, attempt to pull your biases out of the whole situation. How would you feel? If you can't find it in you to agree with her position, then it means one thing: Your values are not entirely compatible.
In a relationship that could be a deal breaker, or just a seed of resentment. As I said, in the end, you have to make the call. It's obvious to me however, you can't force her, or guilt her into providing for your folks. That would simply add to resentment.
