I don't know what to say here, because I'm sure that I lack the words to express the right kind of anger. I mean, what happened to "Never Forget 911?" - Was it all for show? For votes?
I'm sure plenty of people remember Jon Stewart's emotional speech on the first responders health fund. I mean, it was as viral as it gets, and to this day I've not heard better case for why any conversation regarding budgets is completely irrelevant.
It's simple, the first responders did their job, now our inept government has to do theirs; That Simple! - So today, when I heard that Rand Paul blocked the bill, and that he cited "the deficit", I felt like someone should go slap him while wearing a heavy watch.
How do you say "fuck you" in alien? I say alien because there's no way Rand Paul has a human heart. I mean, when it comes to going golfing with 45, and thus implicitly accepting the debt he's amassed on his perma-vacations: NO PROBLEM. But when it comes to give first responders the dignity of spending their last remaining years on this earth without having to be a burden on their families... well... fuck those guys... you see... THE DEBT!.
I'm embarrassed to see our government elected officials be so stupid, so myopic and so cold hearted.
