The digital voting platform Polys, based on the blockchain technology developed by Kaspersky Innovation Hub, has migrated to the Exonum architecture, in a move that will enable it to speed up work and expand voting processing as well as provide capabilities for modifying the service to suit customer needs.
The new architecture also allows for the implementation of more sophisticated and comprehensive verification capabilities, as well as the strongest encryption and anonymization algorithms.
Blockchain, or distributed blockchain technology, is known to be immutable and decentralized in nature, making it ideal for organizing online voting and co-decision-making. These features ensure that no one is secretly tampering with the sounds.
However, the speed of transacting in many of the IT-based structures remains limited. For example, one instance of using Polys voting platform, the Ethereum architecture, can handle 100-200 transactions per second, while Visa can process around 45,000 transactions per second, making the throughput of distributed records low (as in the case of blocking). Chen) was an obstacle to their use in large-scale projects.
To overcome this limitation, Polys moved from a private blockchain network based on Ethereum to Exonum. This open-source enterprise architecture, developed by Bitfury, uses a modified consensus algorithm that allows for faster processing speed.
Smart contract logic can be implemented on Polys without a virtual machine, since Exonum supports the Rust programming language, which further enhances the platform's productivity to be able to process up to 5,000 transactions per second with a response time of 0.5 seconds.
