Usually what pushes people to one extreme is the other extreme... I don't follow german politics to have an opinion, but you have to actually look the reason that made these people who didn't vote for them in the past, vote for them now. Align with the one extreme, will just fuel the other extreme.
What we need is more people in the middle, trying to find a common ground. We need to understand/accept each other better.
