I heard Atwater had a special “maple” version of their Vanilla Java Porter, so I made my way to Detroit and stopped in to try it.
It did not disappoint. I have had the regular VJP many times, and this one was a step up. The maple shined through really well, which is impressive considering all the other flavors going on. Good head retention and mouthfeel.
A sweeter beer, this has low hop content, and is right around 7% ABV. Worth the trip! Can’t get this anywhere else but in the Atwater taproom.
