                                Ode to the Box

                                A Sonnet

My gentle box, you inspire me to write.
How I love the way you fly, trot and flap,
Invading my mind day and through the night,
Always dreaming about the happy rap.

Let me compare you to a bouncy larch?
You are more mental, judgemental and fierce.
Cold clouds dull the flappy flowers of March,
And the springtime has the strange franklin pierce.

How do I love you? Let me count the ways.
I love your unhappy thigh, thumb and arms.
Thinking of your nappy thumb fills my days.
My love for you is the sappy forearms.

Now I must away with a scrappy heart,
Remember my humped words whilst we're apart.
