Greetings to you my dear hivers! Our Christmas week flew by, so I'm here to tell you what I did.
We went to my grandmother's house, where we spent nearly every Christmas. Some of our relatives had already arrived, and my cousin told me that our friends had been staying at our grandmother's house since the typhoon. I was relieved to learn that we would be able to get together again. It was hard to get all of us back together because we were all so busy with our studies, so I'm glad we were able to get together this break.
And because there was no electricity, internet connection, or cellular signals, We played games. They taught me how to play cards. I never really tried learning games that involved other people back then because I was too shy to do so. I won 2 times out of our 12 plays.
We'd go out every night and spend the night on the balcony, reminiscing about our childhood memories and our fun times together. It felt good to be with them again. No gadgets, just us under the moonlight, star gazing and talking about life.
We attended Misa de Gallo together. On Christmas Day, after we attended the mass, we have decided to go out the next day to relax by the sea.
So we went to a resort in Liloan, but sad to say that it was under renovation and the other 2 resorts too, so we pushed forward and hoped to find one, and yes! We did find one in Compostela. As we went in, there were 2 families aside from us.
As can be seen, the resort was also severely damaged by the typhoon. There were a lot of rocks in the area. According to the owner, the rocks were actually the wall that separated them from the other resort, but it was washed out during the typhoon.
We then started setting up the table and chairs, my friend brought his "duyan" or hammock and tied it up to the big tree beside our table.
This is the view when you are in the hammock.
My cousins looked for some charcoal and started grilling the pork.
While others were busy cooking and setting up, my cute nephew and younger brother started swimming right away. They were happily playing with the sand, rocks, and looking for shells.
We had gathered around the table to eat. We kept laughing at my brother, who kept on telling us funny stuffs.
It took me a while to decide whether I'd swim or not. I ended up swimming since my nephew kept splashing water on me and, as I was already wet, I jumped in.
Because of what happened, I thought my Christmas break would not be fun, but it was absolutely fun to be able to bond with family and friends. It was a well-spent break.
That's how I spent my break, how about you? Comment down below! Thank you for stopping by! See you in my next post.
