Nature doesn't need a massive canvas to make a statement. Sometimes lovely flowers in a new vase is all it takes to bring a room to life.
This beautiful vase and floral arrangement was a recent gift friend.
A cozy afternoon spent with a cup of tea, a new audible book, and Busek the cat is lovely on its own—but fresh flowers make it complete."
I am listening to Whistler, the new 2026 novel by American author Ann Patchett.
She is a favorite author and I was waiting for this one to be released in June. The audible version is read by the author.
The story follows Daphne Fuller, a 53-year-old English teacher living outside Manhattan. While visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art with her husband, when they notice an older gentleman following them. The man turns out to be Eddie Triplett, her former stepfather whom she hasn't seen since she was nine years old. Eddie was only married to Daphne’s mother for a little over a year, but a pivotal, dramatic car accident during a snowstorm bound their lives together forever.
The novel alternates between past and present and I am enjoying having the author tell me the story in her own words.
My favorite of her books is the award winning Bel Canto and the Pulitzer Prize-finalist The Dutch House.
