One of my favorite big old 100 year old oaks behind the house came crashing down today.
It had been leaning for 20 years and I had a tree service remove some of the branches years ago, and I think that gave it a few more years of life, but I had recently noticed that it appeared to be leaning more each day.
My daughter was here and we could hear it poping and cracking and knew it was going. We stood on the porch and watched it fall. It shook the whole house. Neighbors began calling to be sure I was OK, so it must have been heard for quite a distance!

I am going to miss it so much! It was one of my favorite trees for bird photos!
