If you've been following my blog you might have seen some of my awesome shots out in the Australian bush. I escaped the lockdown and busy life of the city to reboot back in the country.
I've spent a bit of time hiking and teaching my daughter some culture, a bit of tracking, how to find your way back, catching yabbies etc. The land out here is hot, dry, arrid and can be deadly for many.
But it is also absolutely beautiful, with some of the best scenery and wild animals around.
The red pigment in the soil is due to the high level of iron ore in our soil. Effectively it is rust. Many thought this soil was not good to grow crops in. Which turned out to be untrue as Aussies produce some of the best organic produce in the planet. Much of it is not GMO.
Farmers out here still grow seasonally. Although newer farming practices have been implemented over the years.
One of my favourite things to do out here is tracking. You can track all kinds of animals, the soil is soft so captures foot prints bit they don't hold for long, the wind blows them away. This can also make it hard finding your way back.
But that's why we always look to the sky and see where the sun is.
