After that, the story definitely shifted gears. I felt the same way too: rather than maintaining the intensity, the focus shifted into the more “search mission” structure, which at times felt a bit repetitive.

Regarding the ending, I understand your point. The series hinted at global stakes, but didn’t really show the darker consequences of millions dying, nor the chaos that would realistically ensue. Perhaps the creators wanted to avoid heavy, pandemic-like imagery, which does detract from the drama. For me, Lazarus worked more as a visual and musical experience than a perfectly constructed drama. It strikes me as stylish and entertaining, but perhaps not the kind of series that offers the deeply resonant, emotional exploration that folks were hoping for.
