Man On The Moon ||
This is part of my man on the moon series. One of my favorite type of patterns is floral . With this digital art piece I though I would make his helmet floral and in his space helmet the reflection of space and aswell as his spaces suite I want it to look as if it was made out of space . My favorite colors I enjoy working with are pinks and blues with purples . The blue berry sky is my sort of signature. I always try add something to do with blueberry as I like the color and the fruits ..
So I started it with sketching out the helmet and how I wanted the helmet to look like .. I got the reference from my head and just drew what I though a helmet would look like . It’s not realistic but I add the characteristics of what a helmet has just so you can see its a space helmet and not a motor bike helmet.
After getting an idea of what I wanted, I started drawing the line to define the helmet and for it to look neat with straight lines
I Than began to add some shadows ... I use the black but made it 20 percent transparency to get a good shadow effect of where the light was hitting
I had then began to place and draw the flowers on the helmet with their bright colors .. I placed the flowers I’ve the whole helmet ... with me placing the shadow first it helped show the curves and the darker sides of the shadows.
It time to move on to the space suit. I started with a rough drawing to see how it would shape and form.. than I started adding the little details to give it character.
Next was the color , since I wanted the space suit to resemble the galaxies I use different shades of transparency levels of blues and pinks to give it a good effect. I than add some color to the logos and different pony of the out fit so certain things can pop out. The final think for me to do was to add shadows to the out fit so it looks more details . I used the black transparency again and just high lighted the dark point of the outfit . I added little stars and galaxies on his out fit to give it a good space effect .
For the background I created layers of pink blues and purples .. I didn’t want it to be so busy. I wanted it to give of a quantum reality space effect .. like he was in a different dimension but in space ... so I use different transparency of each color to give off some good defined color to the background..I could of made the helmet abit more lighter so it all blends it but I wanted the helmet to pop off and take some spotlight for the viewers eyes.
