The problem is that a large part of countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran are governed by laws that include Sharia law and people there look down on women. Afghanistan is now governed entirely by Sharia law. In other words, this is like saying that women are half human. I know this very well. I have several Pakistani friends. Several men and several women. I have never heard any of them say that the situation in Pakistan is good and that everyone has equal rights, but the problem is not gender. I know that there are very serious penalties among people if a person leaves their religion there. I do not know if the government has a penal system for this, but as I said, the best thing to do is to run away from such countries.
