None of this would be happening if we weren't all addicted to smart phones and brainwashed by Hollywood's vision of our future. We haven't had ANY real advancements in the past few decades, just constant new editions of distraction-enslavement gadgets. Then suddenly, tada the future is here: we're all cyborgs now, hurry up and get with the times. Meanwhile we're living in shitty apartments in polluted cities loving the cesspool.

Television over the last while has been a total bait-and-switch: At first they tell you the future will be like star trek and we'll have perfect health, food replicators, teleportation, etc. Then the switch: a distopian nightmare: plenty of technology, all used against you not for you.
