An adage says where two elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers. Just applicable to the current situation of fuel scarcity in this country. Despite the fact that Nigeria is among the world largest oil producing states, her inhabitants are unable to access affordable and stable fuel which ought to be the benefits accrue to a producing state like Nigeria. But do we get that?

Despite the fact that the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association (PENGASSAN) met with the Federal Government representatives in person of Minster of Labour and Productivity and Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Chris Ngige and Ibe Kachikwu respectively.
The looming strike is still underway because they are yet to reach a conclusion and as the festive season approaches, the grief and suffering of the masses pile up just like dirt. Not because of the price per litre of the fuel but the stress involved in getting the fuel at filling stations across the country.

This is a cross section pictures of some filling stations in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria.

As you can see some filling stations are not selling at all while the few ones that are active welcome a long queue.
This has become a routine in Nigeria for both private and public workers especially government workers to embark on strike in order to show their grievances over a particular issue or matter. Then, I ask myself and you this questions;
WHO IS TO BLAME?

  1. is it the workers or the marketers?
  2. The Federal Government for not leaving up to their promise as concerning the needs of the PENGASSAN?
  3. The minister of State for Petroleum Resources for not being prompt about the needs under his ministry?
  4. And what's the way forward?

Steemians/Nigerians, I call you up now for a discussion. Let's have an analytical discussion on what's happening in this state
