I can no longer call the baby ducks babies. They are in all ways teenagers. Their voices are changing. They are long, gangly and uncoordinated. Their fluff is turning into feathers giving them that unkempt scraggly look. Their feet don't match their bodies and they stink.

In 22 days look at how big they are. Look at the one on the right, nicely framing George Washington. Her head alone is half the size of the dollar bill. Compare that to the photo of the baby duck at four days old.

It wont be long and they will outgrow this too.

We let the adult female go this afternoon. I wish I had some video, it was amazing to watch. When we let her go, as you would expect she was none too happy. She started quacking loudly and her pals from across the yard came running. They heard HER and they came running.

I will try and not let something like that happen again without documentation. It was cool to see.
