Tiny houses

Hello creative people!!! Today I come with another recycling project, but this time it will be with wood. The pieces I am going to work with were taken by my husband from small pieces left over from a previous work he did in his workshop. To facilitate my work he brought them already cut in the shape of small houses and completely sanded.

This type of decoration is widely used. There are thousands of different designs on the internet. They can be colorful, more sober, with signs, ornaments and in many forms. I am going to make a simple decoration, almost all of them with signs and some other decorative elements. They are very easy to make and perfect for gifts or to give as a souvenir of a celebration.

I will be making several, but as their designs are similar and the process is the same, I will bring you random photos of this one and include the final result of all of them. Without further ado I leave you with the list of materials and the step by step of the creative process.

Casitas

¡¡Hola gente creativa!! Hoy vengo con otro proyecto de reciclaje, pero esta vez será con madera. La piezas que voy a trabajar fueron sacadas por mi esposo de pequeños trozos sobrantes de un trabajo previo que hizo en su taller. Para facilitar mi trabajo ya las trajo cortadas en forma de pequeñas casas y completamente lijadas.

Este tipo de decoración es muy utilizada. Hay miles de diseños diferentes en internet. Pueden ser coloridas, más sobrias, con letreros, adornos y de muchas formas. Yo voy a hacer una decoración sencilla, casi todas con letreros y algún que otro elemento decorativo. Son muy fáciles de hacer y perfectas para regalos o para para entregar como recuerdo de alguna celebración.

Estaré realizando varias, pero como sus diseños son similares y el proceso es el mismo, les traeré fotos aleatorias de este e incluiré el resultado final de todas. Sin más dilación les dejo la lista de materiales y el paso a paso del proceso creativo.

We will need:

• Wooden houses
• Acrylic paint: white, black, red, orange, green, violet
• Sandpaper
• Stencils
• Wooden beads of different colors
• Jute thread
• Brushes

Necesitaremos:

• Casitas de madera
• Pintura acrílica blanca, negra, roja, anaranjada, verde, violeta
• Lija
• Esténciles
• Cuentas de madera de diferentes colores
• Hilo de yute
• Pinceles

We will start by painting each house in the color we choose according to the design we want. Some of them are completely white and I will sand them with fine sandpaper to give them an aged look.

Empezaremos por pintar cada casita del color que escojamos según el diseño que querramos. Algunas que son completamente blancas les voy a pasar una lija fina para darles una apariencia de envejecimiento.

We will glue the stencils on each one with the chosen word. We will put the jute thread with the different colored wooden beads on the bottom of some of the designs.

Pegaremos los esténciles sobre cada una con la palabra escogida. Pondremos en la parte inferior de algunos diseños el hilo de yute con las cuentas de madera de distintos colores.

The signs will be in black acrylic that we will paint with a foam brush to make it easier. Some details can even be painted with our fingers. We will try that the small details are of the same color or similar to the color of the wooden beads, so that they will be refined. And with these simple steps they will be ready to decorate any corner.

Los letreros irán en acrílico negro que pintaremos con un pincel de espuma para que sea más fácil. Algunos detalles hasta podemos pintarlos con los dedos. Trataremos que los detalles pequeños sean del mismo color o parecido al de las cuentas de madera, para que queden rechulas.
