Llevo muchos años haciendo elementos decorativos para habitaciones infantiles e increíblemente ningún cliente había pedido algo relacionado con "El principito". He hecho varias cosas, pero por iniciativa propia.
Esta vez me sorprendió la mamá de un niño llamado Marcelo de solo 4 años al que le encanta dicho libro. Quería su inicial decorada con este motivo.
Así que sin más les dejo la lista de materiales y el paso a paso. Ojalá les guste y les sirva de inspiración para su propio proyecto.

Hello creative people, happy new year! It's been a while since I've posted here, but today I bring you a beautiful project.
I have been making decorative elements for children's rooms for many years and unbelievably no client had ever asked for something related to "The Little Prince". I have done several things, but on my own initiative.
This time I was surprised by the mother of a little boy named Marcelo, only 4 years old, who loves the book. He wanted his initial decorated with this motif.
So without further ado I leave you the list of materials and the step by step. I hope you like it and that it will inspire you for your own project.
Necesitaremos:
Cartón corrugado grueso que mida 30 x 30 cm.
Pegamento (cola blanca)
Papel reutilizado blanco y otro similar al papel de seda
Molde de la letra M y de las figuras de la decoración.
Foamy (azul claro, naranja, rojo, verde y amarillo)
Hilo de estambre amarillo
Papel artesanal (blanco, naranja y azul)
Pasteles al óleo
Lápiz
Regla
Cúter(una cuchilla y uno de presición)
Tijera
Pinturas acrílicas (negra y azul oscuro)
Barniz acrílico
Pinceles y pinceleta
We will need:
- Thick corrugated cardboard measuring 30 x 30 cm
- Glue (white glue)
- Reused white paper and other paper similar to tissue paper
- Mold of the letter M and the figures of the decoration
- Foamy (light blue, orange, red, green, and yellow)
- Yellow worsted yarn
- Craft paper (white, orange and blue)
- Oil pastels
- Pencil
- Ruler
- Cutter (one blade and one precision cutter)
- Scissors
- Acrylic paints (black and dark blue)
- Acrylic varnish
- Brushes and paintbrush
Primeramente forraremos el cartón por ambas caras con papel blanco reutilizado. Para eso extendemos una capa de pegamento blanco y cubrimos con el papel.
Con la ayuda del molde marcaremos la letra y la calaremos.
Después forraremos solo una cara con el papel similar al de seda, este le otorga una textura muy interesante y una vez seco cortamos el sobrante.
First we cover the cardboard on both sides with reused white paper. To do this, we spread a layer of white glue and cover it with the paper.
With the help of the mold we mark the letter and trace it.
Then we cover only one side with the paper similar to tissue paper, which gives it a very interesting texture. Once dry we cut the excess.
Posteriormente cubriremos los bordes expuestos del cartón con tiras de papel artesanal previamente cortadas.
Pintamos todo de color negro y azul oscuro para dar una tonalidad mezclada imitando la oscuridad del espacio exterior.
Salpicamos la superficie con acrílico blanco utilizando un cepillo de dientes. Esta técnica le da una textura granulosa que le otorga volúmen y lo hace atractivo.
Then we cover the exposed edges of the cardboard with previously cut strips of craft paper.
We paint everything in black and dark blue, to give a mixed tone imitating the darkness of outer space.
We splashed the surface with white acrylic using a toothbrush. This technique gives it a grainy texture that gives it volume and makes it attractive.
Recortamos por separado todos las piezas que llevará nuestra decoración, la ropa del principito, la cabeza, la bufanda, la flor, el cuerpo y la cola del zorro serán de foami.
Las forraremos con papel artesanal excepto la bufanda y la flor que se quedarán tal cual y la cabeza que la cubriremos de hilo de estambre.
Para dar un acabado más artístico acentuaremos los bordes de nuestras piezas con pasteles al óleo del color apropiado. El planeta irá solo de papel artesanal con algunos elementos para darle volumen.
We cut out separately all the pieces that our decoration will take, the clothes of the little prince, the head, the scarf, the flower, the body and the tail of the fox will be made of foami.
We will cover them with craft paper except the scarf and the flower that will remain as they are and the head that we will cover with worsted yarn.
To give a more artistic finish we will accentuate the edges of our pieces with oil pastels of the appropriate color. The planet will be made only of handmade paper with some elements to give it volume.
Disponemos de manera armónica todos los elementos en nuestra letra y pegamos. Por último daremos una mano de barniz para su protección y quedará lista.
We arrange all the elements harmoniously in our letter and glue. Finally we will give a coat of varnish for protection and it will be ready.
