Magic for all

Hello to all the creative people who inhabit this space. Almost at the deadline I make my entry to the contest for the month of September. Here is my proposal and I hope you enjoy it.

I confess that a few months ago my creative energy has been depleted by certain circumstances. Other responsibilities take up a lot of my time and leave me with few ideas to create content worthy of sharing with those who dedicate their valuable time to read my publications (thank you all).

This initiative has motivated me in a good way and against the clock I set to work. I dare to assure you that we all have dreamed at some time that a magical character comes into our lives and with his powers gives us what we long for. Fairies, elves, wizards, genies, mermaids, gnomes, unicorns.... no matter the form.

Today I have chosen a fairy, that fantastic creature with large wings and female humanoid form. Always depicted with great beauty and delicacy, they are known as protectors of nature and with powers to manipulate the elements that make up nature.

Although there are differences between cultures, fairies are believed to be able to cast spells and enchantments that can help us in our lives (although there are some that are mischievous and do not help 🤭). The one I bring today is one of those that will fill the room where it is hung, with good vibes, illusions and lots of magic.

I will need:

• Cardboard
• White, beich, light and dark green craft paper
• Pencil
• Scissors
• Glue (white glue)
• Liquid silicone
• Red acrylic paint
• Acrylic markers of different colors
• Light and dark green yarn
• Thin green tape
• Semi-transparent plastic film
• Wooden frame

To start I made a reference drawing (I promise you that the end will be very different 😆). It will also serve as a mold to make the different pieces of my work.

Using cardboard and craft paper I made all the elements separately. Then I painted the ones that needed to be painted with the right color and added decoration in some cases.

For the hair I used thread that I attached to the head with liquid silicone. I added a ribbon and some small flowers. To this fairy I made a very casual haircut 🤭. Subsequently I drew the eyes and mouth with acrylic markers. The wings, made of semi-transparent plastic, I also decorated them with some metallic markers to add color.

With everything ready, I mounted each piece on a 25 x 25 cm blue cardboard background, on which I painted colored spirals. Finally I framed my work reusing a green frame very appropriate for this fairy that lives in a small mushroom in a garden anywhere in the world.

I promised them that it would look better than my initial drawing 😜.

Hola a todas las personas creativas que habitan este espacio. Casi en la fecha límite hago mi entrada al concurso del mes de septiembre. Aquí está mi propuesta y espero la disfruten.

Confieso que hace unos meses mi energía creativa ha estado mermada por ciertas circunstancias. Otras responsabilidades ocupan mucho mi tiempo y me dejan con escasas ideas para crear contenido digno de compartir con los que dedican su valioso tiempo a leer mis publicaciones (a todos gracias).

Esta iniciativa me ha motivado de buena manera y contra reloj puse manos a la obra. Me atrevo a asegurar que todos hemos soñado alguna vez que un personaje mágico llegue a nuestras vidas y con sus poderes nos brinde aquello que anhelamos. Hadas, duendes, elfos, magos, genios, sirenas, gnomos, unicornios....no importa la forma.

Hoy he escogido un hada, esa criatura fantástica de grandes alas y forma humanoide femenina. Siempre representadas con gran belleza y delicadeza, se les conoce como protectoras de la naturaleza y con poderes para manipular los elementos que la conforman.

Aunque hay diferencias entre culturas, se cree que las hadas son capaces de realizar hechizos y encantamientos que pueden ayudarnos en nuestra vida (aunque hay algunas que son traviesas y no ayudan 🤭). La que traigo hoy es de esas que llenará la habitación donde se cuelgue, de buena vibra, ilusiones y mucha magia.

Necesitaré:

• Cartón
• Papel artesanal blanco, beich, verde claro y oscuro
• Lápiz
• Tijeras
• Pegamento (cola blanca)
• Silicona líquida
• Pintura acrílica roja
• Marcadores acrílicos de diferentes colores
• Hilo de estambre verde claro y oscuro
• Cinta fina verde
• Película plástica semitransparente
• Marco de madera.

Para comenzar realicé un dibujo de referencia (les prometo que el final será muy diferente 😆). Me servirá también de molde para hacer las diferentes piezas de mi trabajo.

Utilizando cartón y papel artesanal hice todos los elementos por separado. Después pinté del color adecuado los que necesitaban ser pintados y añadí decoración en algunos casos.

Para el pelo utilicé hilo que adherí a la cabeza con silicona líquida. Añadí una cinta y unas pequeñas flores. A esta hada le hice un corte de cabello muy desenfadado 🤭. Posteriormente dibujé los ojos y la boca con marcadores acrílicos. Las alas, hechas de plástico semitransparente, las decoré también con algunos marcadores metalizados para agregar color.

Con todo listo me dispuse a montar cada pieza sobre un fondo de cartón de 25 x 25 cm de color azul, en el que pinté espirales de colores. Finalmente enmarqué mi obra reutilizando un marco de color verde muy apropiado para esta hada que habita en un pequeño hongo en un jardín de cualquier lugar del mundo.

Les prometí que quedaría mejor que mi dibujo inicial 😜.
