He couldn’t have been more dramatic in this photo

There were times when most of the people didn’t have a phone with a camera in their pockets. There were times when most of the people didn’t have a mobile phone at all. And these times didn’t seem so far away. Nowadays anyone with some average quality mobile phone is able to take some pretty decent photos and I’m happy that I can shoot my family everywhere without carrying a professional or semi-professional camera.

Of course, smartphones can’t beat the quality of the DSLRs but, really, most of the people don’t need this additional quality. As long as you don’t need enormous prints or magazine studio shots, everyone is happy with the camera they have in their pockets. One additional advantage is that smartphones have some very complex chips and make the quick retouching of the images simple and fast.

I’m very curious to see where will the mobile phone cameras be in 5 or 10 years. Until then we will continue taking great looking non-commercial photos with our mobile phones.
See ya!
