Eminem…
I remember back in the days when I was like 15 years old I received this present - an audio cassette with the Eminem’s album - The Eminem show. And I was excited as hell!!! I remember listening to this same cassette every time I went to bed in the evening. This was my favorite album ever and Eminem easily became my favorite artist back then.
Yesterday it was Eminem’s 50th birthday so i decided it was appropriate to make this #ttt to be a rap one in honor of this great rapper.
He didn’t have a good childhood, not he had the skin color to become a “native” rapper, but with his persistence and hard work managed to get the help of Dr Dre and consequently make some of the best albums all time. Awarded with many music awards, Grammy, MTV, etc. and many some movie awards, Eminem became the most famous rapper.
After Eminem, it’s time to something close.
The second time is…
D12… the Dirty Dozen…. Well, with Eminem, here are one of the most close men near the white rapper back then. It’s well known that many of them have helped him to start his career. I know a story when Proof visited Eminem back in the days when we was no one and brought him a pair of new snickers. These were the first good looking shoes in the Eminem’s life in a long time and he was very grateful. This was in times when no one wanted a white guy to mess with the rap music, so luckily the white rapper found a good backup with these guys.
Now, let’s see the third tune for today… and it is (drums playing)…
Coolio - Gangstas’ paradise
Another rap classic, another rapper who lost his life in 2022. It feels that in the last months there were a lot of famous US rappers that fell victims of death. Coolio may not have so much hits, but his Gangstas’ Paradise was an iconic song in the mid 90s. I bet that there’s not a person on earth (25+ years old) that does not know this song and it was part of many parties around my “gang” 😁
All the three songs take me back in such romantic times and bring back so many memories and feelings. Now I don’t listen to them at all, but there are times when I decide to go back in the years and listen to these retro rap hits… and this feels great!
