Fruit vendors with three-wheeled vans in the narrow lanes and alleys of Dhaka city.
The pineapple seller is still quite young, though he is already married. The couple lives in Dhaka, where the cost of living—including rent and food—is high. Despite this, he bought a three-wheeled cart and sells pineapples from it. Priced at 30 Taka each, he considers this roadside spot an ideal location to sell this healthy fruit to passersby. You can have the pineapple cut and served with salt right there, or take it home to cut and eat yourself; both options are available.
Interestingly, I was actually chasing after this coconut water vendor, hoping to capture a great, eye-catching photograph. However, he seemed to vanish right before my eyes, and I couldn't locate him for a while. Suddenly, I spotted him entering a side street and then making his way back out; that was when I finally managed to take his picture. He was moving briskly, calling out "coconut water" as he went, without stopping anywhere unless a customer specifically asked him to halt so they could buy a coconut. His goal was to sell this specific batch of coconuts within the day itself. Often, fathers endure immense hardship—burdened by family responsibilities—yet these are struggles they can never truly share with anyone.
Often, one's own dreams fade away while striving to fulfill the dreams of one's family. This thought comes to mind when observing a hardworking father. Despite the hardships of life, he remains a devoted father, never revealing his own sorrows or struggles to anyone. He is a father who—in a sense—seems to have no dreams of his own; his entire existence is driven by the goal of meeting his family's needs and fulfilling his children's wishes. Ultimately, he never prioritizes himself. I reflect on the very meaning of the word "Father" when I see him—a fruit vendor standing and selling healthy produce. I see him selling fresh fruit every day as I pass by. His tireless labor is dedicated solely to ensuring his family has food and a peaceful life. Such individuals certainly deserve our respect and salute; the least I can do is support him by purchasing fruit.
No sooner is one desire fulfilled than another arises; it truly seems that human wants have no end. Consider a father who, through sheer hard work—such as selling vegetables—manages to cover all family expenses, including education costs and house rent, while running a business in a city like Dhaka. It is not merely about earning an income; he carries a heavy mental burden and must juggle numerous responsibilities, especially when the first of the month arrives. The life of such a hardworking individual is indeed incredibly arduous. Only a father has the capacity to steer his family toward a better future; he remains constantly dedicated, often sacrificing his own personal freedom, as his entire happiness and peace are bound up with the well-being of his family.
I offer a thousand salutes to every father. A father plays a pivotal role in making a family's life beautiful and well-ordered. The very word "Father" is so sweet, instantly evoking cherished memories of childhood. Through their hard work and earnings, fathers stand as heroic warriors for their families. I wholeheartedly believe that a father is always the family's warrior; I am truly happy that, despite their grueling labor, they provide for their families through honest means. I view this as a shining example of how honest intentions always lead to success. I wish you all a wonderful life and happiness—thank you, everyone.
