This week questions ignite a reflective thought in my heart. I think its a good question. Because it allow one to think objectively and some of the questions provide one to pour his heart out which may be a healing process for those who have any sort of anger with their parents, while some will see how loved and wonderful their parents had been to them.
what role did my parents play in my life
I don't have much to say as regard my biological parents. Because my parents got divorced When I was very young, so I practically grew up with my grandmother. I knew I was loved by my parents so much. This I know because during Christmas period they do buy three set of clothes for me, and I was envied among my friends. And I happened to come across the diaries of my parents, in those diaries were written the beautiful prayers my parents prayed for me when I was still a foetus till I was born. Since I was very young when they got divorce, my grandmother played the major role which I can clearly write about. She played the role of my both parents, she was my mother and my father. She practically thought me every thing I was supposed to be thought by my parents. I grew under her tutelage.
Has my relationship with my parents changed over the years?
I never really had any intimate relationship with my parents. So i cannot really say whether thing has changed. As for my mother, in the recent years, we are communicating more often and sometimes visit her. I will say yes! It has changed for better with my mother but for my father, it has not changed. We rarely communicate, the last time we spoke on phone was two years ago.
** is there anything I wish my parents would have done differently?**
I will say yes, to the above question. We the children do not know the reason behind their divorce, but we were the ones that suffered more for their decisions. I would have loved them to always keep in touch with us more often after their divorce. Take responsibilities of us financially and also emotionally. But that was lacking from their parts. Thanks to our grandmother for being there for us.
How am i similar to my parents
I have not stayed with my parents that long, so i won't know much about them character wise. But physically, am dark skin, pointed nose, average in height, And a bit of curly hair just like my dad. And am also introverted like him.
How am I different from my parents
These parents of mine are people I know little about them.
I will only answer this question on how I would've behaved differently when faced with the situation they faced, I mean the divorce. In a case of divorce, I will not exclude my children from my life. I would rather draw them closer and shower them with much love. And also communicate with them often, if possible treat them as my friends.
Do I prefer more involved relationship with my parents or not?
Yes! I will Prefer a more involved relationship with them. This is one thing that has been lacking in our lives as their children. I believe it will give us the children the feeling we have lacked for a long time. I will like to have such feeling, because I know it will definitely be a beautiful feeling.
The above the answers I can give to this week questions.
