Any form of service you find yourself rendering in the body of Christ, or for the services and benefits of other men, is your ministry. Assuming that only the pastors or the choristers are ministers in the house of God is a misunderstanding of the word; minister. If it were to be so, then there is the likelihood for weakness and sudden breakdown. As such, everybody needs each other to function properly.
As a body, every part or an organ is very important. A slight pain on the thumb affects the whole body, therefore indicating that we are interconnected. In the church, we have different organs that minister to the people, either through words or by actions. Same as in our different offices and businesses. As important as the preacher may be, so is the usher. The sanctuary keepers are no less ministers than the choir. The instrumentalists are only different in the services they render, but are not independent on the body. The teachers need the students to administer the lessons, else there is no learning. The wife needs her husband, and the children equally need the parents and vice versa, else the family is incomplete.
As we are taking good care of our bodies by eating well, exercising and resting, so it is required that the church, our jobs, our families and our businesses should not be left to breakdown.
Effectiveness is the capacity of producing the desired results in anything you do.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Col 3:23-24[NIV].
You were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. 1Cor 6:20. [NIV].
This virtue gives assurance that your services are not a waste.
In your ministry, let God be put first and last, this will invoke the spirit of God upon you and by strength shall you not prevail, then your services will yield the desired results.
Life is filled with challenges, but it is perseverance and hard work that tears the grips of the challenges. See yourself as the only person in that position, hence, trying to stand in at all times to avoid leakages.
Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.
At this, the administrators and the satraps tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent. Daniel 6:3-4. [NIV].
One of the best ways to achieve effectiveness is setting yourself around people better than you. Spiritually, mentally and psychologically, fast growth is obtained when there is that man better than you at one end willing to see you grow also. Associate with those that have achieved success in their different fields and ministries and aim at performing better than them. It is only an iron that can sharpen another iron.
A life that has failed to plan is already making serious plans to fail. Having a clear vision of what you want in life gives you the necessary tool to use and plan. Set a clear and achievable targets and work towards actualizing them. The future begins today.
