PAPA AJASCO AND COMPANY For Nigerian kids growing up in the late 1990's and early 2000s, this television comedy show is one we also look forward to every week. It is shown every wednesday on NTA channel 5 and runs for 30 minutes or so. Papa Ajasco is a television comedy show that everyone wants to watch, Adults and children alike. When watching this show, everything in it os laced with comedy; their speeches, walking steps, dressing and appearance all breeds comedy.
Papa Ajasco features a family, Papa Ajasco's family which is made up of;
Papa Ajasco is the average well-fed and high income earning man. Papa Ajasco is notable for his rotund body shape, hairs shaved clean down the middle with some hairs left on either side like a bush path whose sides has been overgrown by grasses. Papa Ajasco always puts on a long sleeve shirt with a tie and he ties a wrapper. He is usually the target of funny tricks.
Mama Ajasco was a no nonsense woman and usually blows hot for Papa Ajasco, on the overall, he is often afraid of her and most times hastily do her bidding. She is usually in constant quarrels with Papa Ajasco girlfriends which most times os his secretary, Miss Pepeye.
Ajasco is the son and his dressing was mostly imitated by kids of the early 2000s. His most captivating touch of dressing was his cone-like face cap with the front extending out long. He is a troublesome kid.
Pa James is the old man in the show, and tends to be Papa Ajasco's gate man. Pa James was known to have a loose town and was more often than not unveiling secrets of the randy nature of Papa Ajasco. He was a witty old man.
Alinko is a bachelor who always dance-walks. His sense of dressing is hilarious and I remembered a time his eye glasses captivated the nation's kids that a certain Christmas, a plastic imitation of it was being sold. It was kind of a double eyes glass with on pair right on top of the other.
Miss Pepeye is the spinster in this show, Papa Ajasco's secretary wh he so cherish that his usually got into trouble with his wife because of her.
This show was very significant to me and my family back then. My Mum was not the movie or show type. In fact, she is not the television type but it was only during this show that I get to see on of the rare times when my Mum with watch TV with us and laugh. The whole family watches the show together and it was always a happy moment for us.
