Never Made Sense To Me Until Recently
I really enjoy being the go-to guy. I don't know what my malfunction is but if someone asks for a volunteer, usually my hand is the first one up. This has rewarded me in the past and given me some great adventures. Not to mention the learning opportunities.
Lately, I have been taking on too much. When I first become self-employed I went through a bit of culture shock. Every hour of every day is my own to do with as I see fit. I was being a helpful neighbor, and that buddy that is always there for you. This was my failing.
A new business requires a lot of time and effort, with laser focus concentration. Suddenly I was spending more time engaged in being a helpful friend, than on my reselling business. I almost completely failed before I even got started. Luckily I figured it out before it was too late.

This is the pattern I have observed over time. Reselling I had to be sure I adhered to a rigid schedule so that I had enough money coming in to pay for living expenses and continue to grow the business.
When I tried to add another income stream, my reselling business would suffer more than I realized until the sales would dip. Do not misunderstand I always make sure the orders go out on time that is not where I would falter. Making listings can be time-consuming, especially with photography.
Adding something new to my business structure is nightmarish. The learning curve always takes so much more time than what has been budgeted. Not to mention the funds needed to finance the opportunity.
Sales Dip Wildly Fear & Panic Take Charge
Being self-employed is great I would recommend it to anyone. The horror of self-employment is simply when your productivity dip so does your income. Going to a job every day, when your productivity dips you may receive a warning but your income is the same. Except for commission sale people.
With fear and panic now at the wheel controlling the ship everything other than the reselling activities was dropped!! Yes, that is right I would start and quit businesses again and again so often everyone forgets that I am still a successful self-employed reseller.
My family and friends become so accustomed to me starting and quitting the business, that the joke was "oh a new business, okay we will wait 15 minutes to see your next business." I became a joke, and from my point of view, I was hustling.
Now I have learned my lesson and will not take on anything new unless I know I can commit to its success. Even though I have bitten off more than I can chew I am working harder than ever to keep up with my new activities while maintaining my current income.
