We started our morning with our usual quick breakfast. Hotdog and egg paired with steaming rice. It is so simple to cook and great for those moments that you want something fast before rushing off to work. Just after we finished eating, I heard the malunggay pandesal vendor calling out nearby. I went out and bought 8 pieces for ₱40. When I got inside and counted them, I was surprised coz there was an extra one.
No wonder he smiled at me when he handed the bag 😂
Aiden loves bread so much that he can eat two at a time, and sometimes he even asks for more. By almost 10 a.m., we didn’t have much left to cook at home, so I waited for the mobile fish vendor to pass by. He had different kinds of fresh fish, so I picked two... Which are tilapia and tuna. For lunch, I fried the tilapia crisp. Then I cooked the tuna as adobo and stored it in the fridge.
This is my little time‑saving trick. Whenever I get fresh meat or fish, I cook them all ahead in different ways. When mealtime comes, I just heat them up and we’re good to go. In the afternoon, we headed over to Express Mart to pick up a few snacks. I chose my favorite chips, then let the kids pick their own juice. It’s sweet to see them already know exactly what they like.We usually drop by here for small grocery runs because it’s much faster than going to the big mall.
There were quite a few shoppers today, but it was still quick and easy. When we got home, I prepared our dinner. But later in the night, my hubby asked for something to drink. It was cold, he said. So, I went along with him. He got ice ready while I fried some kikiam for pulutan. The kids came over as well, though they only had kikiam, of course!
