December 28 was the day my husband and I got married.

Back when we were still boyfriend and girlfriend, our monthsaries felt exciting.
‎
‎We would plan and look for simple treats. We were happy that we were still choosing each other. 🫣

‎
‎Then came anniversaries, more flowers, more food, and more effort.
‎
‎And honestly, I loved it.

‎
‎Now that we're married, life is different.
‎
‎There are bills to pay, kids to care for, and responsibilities that never seem to rest.
‎
‎When December 28 arrived, our 5th wedding anniversary, I didn't feel as excited as I used to.
‎
‎Not because I don't love him anymore. But because celebrating now feels like another expense.
‎
‎Another meal out, another plan, another cost.
‎
‎Does this mean I've changed? Or worse... Have I stopped valuing our anniversary?
‎
‎One day, my mom called and asked what our plans for our anniversary.
‎
‎I answered with a small laugh, stating that we don't have a plan as we don't have a budget for that.
‎
‎She said, we can celebrate it in their house. She's the one to cook... and provide a simple meal.
‎
‎And they really prepared.
‎
‎My mom cooked beef bulalo, and my sister prepared her chicken inasal.

‎
‎It was just a simple meal, but I could feel the love and effort they put into it. 🥹
‎

‎
‎We also bought a small tub of ice cream for dessert.. only to find out they also bought ice cream. Same flavor, just bigger!
‎

‎
‎After dinner, they brought out an alcoholic drink.

‎
‎Their effort made me love them even more.
‎
‎And for my hubby, I gave him a gift. His favorite chocolates. 🍫
‎

‎
‎A small thing, but it's like a quiet thank you for the patience, forgiveness, and faithfulness.
‎
‎--
‎
‎Over the past five years, I've seen how much we've grown.
‎
‎Not just as husband and wife, but as two imperfect people learning real-life love.
‎
‎We used to react quickly, get hurt easily, and hold on to misunderstandings.
‎
‎But slowly, we learned to say sorry.
‎
‎To forgive. To listen first before defending ourselves.
‎
‎We learned to practice respect, especially when emotions are high.
‎
‎And I'm grateful for him as a husband and a father.
‎
‎He helps me in ways he can and supports us.
‎
‎I may not always say it loud but I notice. And I appreciate him.
‎
‎Marriage hasn't always been easy, but every challenge taught us something.
‎
‎Every victory reminded us that God is still working in us.
‎
‎To more anniversaries to come, honey xtianjeff@xtianjeff! I love you. 😘
‎
‎Until our next celebration...
‎
‎Thanks for the visit! Have a lovely day. Buh-bye. 💗🌸
