Si hay algo que he podido apreciar de la ciudad de Lima - Perú en los 3 años que he estado aquí, es el esfuerzo que en cada uno de los Distritos que la conforman, hacen para mantener un espacio totalmente verde, espacio dedicado al disfrute y esparcimiento de sus habitantes.
Hoy decidí hacer un paréntesis en mi rutina diaria, y fui de visita al Parque Ecológico Loma Amarilla; un pequeño pulmón ambiental, situado en el Distrito de Santiago de Surco. Y quiero que lo conozcas.
If there is something that I have been able to appreciate about the city of Lima - Perú in the 3 years that I have been here, it is the effort that in each of the Districts that conform it, they make to maintain a totally green space, space dedicated to the enjoyment and recreation of its inhabitants.
Today I decided to make a parenthesis in my daily routine, and I went to visit the
Parque Ecológico Loma Amarilla;a smallenvironmental lung,located in the District of Santiago de Surco. And I want you to know it.
Loma Amarilla, es un ecosistema de 4,500 metros cuadrados; acoge a 34 especies de aves y, a 25 especies de árboles.
Apenas vas llegando a la entrada, te recibe un enorme elefante que en tiempo de primavera, se viste con una hermosa enredadera de vegetación, entre verde y roja. Hoy no tenía esos colores porque estamos apenas saliendo del verano. Sin embargo, igual le tome su foto y aparte te voy a dejar una referencial.
Loma Amarilla, is an ecosystem of 4,500 square meters; it is home to 34 species of birds and, 25 species of trees.
As soon as you arrive at the entrance, you are greeted by a huge elephant that in spring time, is dressed with a beautiful green and red vine of vegetation. Today it didn't have those colors because we are just coming out of summer. However, I still took his picture and I will leave you a reference one.
Posee un sendero en la entrada que es excelente para los deportistas, es un poco empinado, a medida que subes vas sintiendo la resistencia, pero no es nada agotadora. El lugar es hermoso porque está rodeado de una vegetación autentica, lo cual hace que se sienta muy fresco.
It has a trail at the entrance that is excellent for athletes, it is a little steep, as you go up you feel the resistance, but it is not exhausting at all. The place is beautiful because it is surrounded by authentic vegetation, which makes it feel very fresh.
Algo que note mientras subía, es que hay máquinas para ejercitarse, una iniciativa bastante buena, para las personas que les gusta trotar y entrenar. De hecho, en la mayoría de los parques que he visitado en Lima, hay éste tipo de máquinas. También se puede ir con mascotas, siempre y cuando se recoja el popo; hay depósitos diseñados para recibir las heces de los perros.
One thing I noticed on the way up is that there are exercise machines, a very good initiative for people who like to jog and train. In fact, in most of the parks I have visited in Lima, there are such machines. You can also go with pets, as long as you pick up the poop; there are tanks designed to receive dog feces.
El verdor, la paz y la tranquilidad que transmite el lugar son únicos. Hoy en lo particular, no había mucha gente, pero esto se debe a la misma situación del estado de emergencia. Sin embargo, había una que otra persona, quizás, aprovechando esa soledad para conectarse un poco con la naturaleza y respirar.
The greenery, peace and tranquility of the place are unique. Today in particular, there were not many people, but this is due to the same situation of the state of emergency. However, there was one or two people, perhaps, taking advantage of the solitude to connect a little with nature and breathe.
Cuando ya casi llegas a la cima, te topas con otros senderos, rodeados de más vegetación. Hay tanto verde alrededor, que no pareciese que estuviese en la ciudad. Por ahí decidí bajar. Y escuchas el canto de las aves, el sonido del viento sobre la copa de los árboles, y es perfecto. Subes, te depuras y bajas renovado.
When you almost reach the top, you come across other trails, surrounded by more vegetation. There is so much green all around that you don't feel like you are in the city. That's where I decided to go down. And you hear the birds singing, the sound of the wind over the tree tops, and it is
perfect. You go up, you purify yourself, and you come down refreshed.
Me gusta, porque los vecinos de la zona y los visitantes, cuidan mucho ese espacio, y no es para menos. Es una reserva ecológica invaluable, que no se ha visto afectada por agentes externos. Loma Amarilla representa esa parte verde a la que muchos nos negamos a renunciar. Es esa conexión con la naturaleza en medio de tanto concreto. Sin dudarlo, volvería a ir.
I like it, because the neighbors of the area and the visitors, take great care of this space, and it is not for less. It is an invaluable ecological reserve that has not been affected by external agents.
Loma Amarilla represents that green part that many of us refuse to give up. It is that connection with nature in the midst of so much concrete.Without hesitation, I would go again.
