Good day fellow steemians. The weather is not good better us to stay in our home.
I want to share all of you guys on how we prepare or how to be alert if their is a disaster comes.
NATURAL DISASTER
Natural disaster such as earthquakes, typhoons, storm surges, and volcanic eruptions are considered emergencies because they threaten the lives and properties of many people, and can affect the environment considerably.
Storm surge
Is the rising of the sea as a result of atmospheric pressure changes and wind associated with a storm.
Floods
Occur when large amount of water goes beyond its normal confines and spills over dry land. In the Philippines, flooding is a perennial problem because of several reasons, such as the volume of monsoon rains, denuded forests, clogged rivers and creeks and poor drainage and sewerage systems.
Typhoon
Is a tropical storm in the region of the Indian or Western Pacific Oceans. An average of eight or nine typhoons make landfall in the Philippines. They can cause erosion and great loss like destruction to property and environment.
Tips During the Disaster Situation
- Act quickly, but calmly. Panicking will not be helpful and can in fact impair your judgement and delay your actions.
- Stay in a high and safe place.
- Bring enough water and food supply to your safe evacuation area.
- If you need to walk through flood water, wear rain boots.
- Immediately contact agencies or authorities that can help.
