i think the question is more "do you think you have a for filling life?". I get that you occasionally feel a strong fatigue due to not enough oxygen carrying red blood cells and it causes you pain at times. But does it stop you from having a good life?
And some life threatening symptoms can be deterred with a vaccination like the sickle cell anemia vaccination. Also the article is not strongly advising against having a child with sickle cell but rather to understand the treatments and preventative measures of some of its more severe symptoms, and take that in consideration with the decision of giving birth.
Also I believe you live in north western Nigeria. Malaria is more common there than in the rest of the country, and is the reason of 300 000 deaths each year in Nigeria. Sickle cell prevents you from having severe symptoms of Malaria, and less likely to contract the disease. If I did my research correctly Malaria is a common reason why kids die young in Nigeria.
