While resting at the edge of a rice field, I was startled by a massive population of grasshoppers. Every step I took, brushing against the grass, sent several of them fluttering into the air, causing me a moment of panic. Almost all the fields in my area had been planted with rice, creating a stunningly beautiful green landscape, with only a few months remaining until the harvest season. However, the presence of these grasshoppers was a serious concern for the farmers; they are widely regarded as pests due to their destructive nature and voracious appetite for rice leaves—a problem compounded by the sheer number and variety of them. I spotted a green grasshopper perched on the wild grass; it was of a moderate size—neither too big nor too small—making it a perfect subject for macro photography. Fortunately, it didn't fly away as I approached, allowing me to move my macro lens in close and capture a large number of photos of the insect.
