Turbocharging is an automobile related term, this terminology is associated with the internal combustion engine. There are several reasons why this is intended for the engine, a major reason is that the fuel burned per cycle in an internal combustion engine is air limited. The turbocharging therefore increases the air density. In this area, there are some terminologies associated with it.
a. Supercharged engines : This involves a compressor which is powered by the engine output and in this supercharging, there is no turbo-lag. The supercharging of the internal combustion engine does not impact in the exhaust treatment and at the same time, it is less efficient than the turbocharging.
b. Turbocharged engines : This method also involves the compressor which is being powered by the exhaust turbine, in turbocharged engines, it uses and utilizrsbtge exhaust energy and it is always relatively affected by the Turbo-lag problem and it also affects the exhaust treatment.
c. Intercooler : This pattern also increases the charge density which directly affects the output power by cooling the charge and it also lowers the nitrogen oxide emissions being emitted by the engine. It also has an advantage of suppressing knock in engines. Another great benefit of the turbocharging is that, it can downsize the engine while retaining the same maximum power..
Good morning and a happy new week.
