Hydrocarbon-fueled internal combustion engines are the power plant of choice for vehicles in the power range from 5 Watts to 100,000,000 warts and have been for over 100 years and in history approximately about 200,000,000 internal Combustion engines are built every year which is about 1.5 times the human birth rate, this is to let you know that manufacturing of automobiles are daily and timely.

Maintenance of these internal combustion engines are very necessary because the lifespan of these engines depends on the operating conditions and maintenance schedule and processes. I suggest strongly that hydrocarbon-fueled internal combustion engines should be properly used and maintained. To your knowledge, I will tell you all that there is an unlimited amount of inaccurate, misleading informations about the internal combustion engines. Some citizens which are present in the United States could concur to these facts that would be seen here, firstly about 80% of the world energy production results from the combustion of fossil fuels. The energy sector accounts for 9% of the United States Gross Domestic Product ( GDP).

An internal Combustion engine is a heat engine in which the heat source is a combustible mixture that also serves as the working fluid. Now many questions might arise as to what the working fluid is used for in the internal combustion engines. I will list only two :-
a. The working fluid creates a high momentum fluid used directly for propulsive force.
b. The working fluid produces shaft work by pushing on a piston.

There are some types of internal combustion engines which are rocket, gasoline-fueled reciprocating piston engine, diesel-fueled reciprocating piston engine. There are also types of non-internal combustion engines which are nuclear power plant, solar power plant and steam power plant.

In 1876, this is the preliminary phase of the automotive industry and this started with the premixed charge 4-stroke engine which was built by Nikolaus Otto. What really marvelled me is the fact that it is the first practical internal combustion engine, first overhead valves and a crankshaft, uses about 5.1 litres, has about 1300 lb as weight and rotates at 160 rpm and uses power of 2 HP, uses coal gas (carbon monoxide + hydrogen). Also uses a compression ratio of 4.

Thanks for reading today. And now the internal combustion engines we use are now dual overhead cam (DOHC) and more efficiently built.
