Good morning all, happy new week readers, we have been through many writings but this week, I would appreciate if we all learn about the adequate necessary automotive maintenance that should be carried out with safety precaution. Bringing it down to all the automobile workshops worldwide, automobiles are big and heavy with lots of mechanical moving parts. In a conducive environment, a vehicle can be maintained safely and effectively. There are certain tips which would help every workshop and workman in every repairs and maintenance section in an automobile workshop. Let us start from the fact that you should always work with a partner, Google eye protection should always be worn to prevent flying of dangerous objects from entering the eyes, as an individual your clothes and hair should not be let loosed and you should always stay clear of moving parts of a running vehicle in the workspace, Never should you ever mix your workspace with other cluttering materials such as home storage, garden tools and other items.
As always, you should already know where the fire extinguisher is and the planned exit route and the location of the fire extinguisher should have easy access. Never should you forget that the weight of the car is at least 4000 pound and it is a piece of machinery that could cause serious damage if it falls on you, this should be avoided. Whenever you want to raise a vehicle above ground level, you should use the proper technique and it should be lifted at the designated spots. Every car has an owner manual and the proper lifting points are stated clearly. The proper lifting points on a vehicle are the locations on the vehicle where you place the jack to lift the vehicle and where the jack stands are placed to keep the vehicle safely elevated for the period of time that you want it to be elevated. Lifting points are different on every vehicle but it is actually according to the manufacturer's point of view.
There are some basic tools that every workshop should have, as to this, a workman should also have a toolbox with some basic tools like the flashlight. This is a very important tool, it is one of the most used tool in the automobile repair and maintenance section of the workshop. It helps in revealing things whenever you want to carry out maintenance and repairs and for visual inspection of parts. Some tools like the 4-way lug wrench, a complete set of wrenches of all available sizes, screwdrivers of different sizes both flat head and Phillips with Jack and Jack stands, funnels, drain pan, battery tester, an automobile diagnostic scanner. Basic as I called them earlier.. These are basic tools.
There are various fluids which could be used in the vehicle like the battery fluid, transmission fluid, windshield washer fluid with the power steering fluid, engine oil, brake fluid, coolant. This should always be as manufacturer recommended. The engine coolant should never be opened whenever the engine is hot.
