In the latest Town Hall the developers were discussing rearranging the rewards system to lean on giving more rewards to active players and players who are willing to invest in Splinterlands cards. This got me thinking what can I do to increase my chances of earning better rewards in the system?
Rental Market
If there is one of the cheapest ways to enter into the game and be competitive at playing it is to rent out cards. Over on peakmonsters there are over 1 million cards available for trade and average cost per a rent is around 4.3 DEC. That is less than $0.01 a card per a day.
Rentals are also a good way to test out cards before purchasing them. Sometimes looking at the card versus actually using it to play can prove if the card is worth the investment.
Gradually play the game to earn enough to purchase cards to permanently add to your collection. Overall this method is really based mostly on skills in play to earn rather than anything else.
Side Hustles
Every week the official Splinterlands Hive account posts entries for players who are active in game to be on Hive to blog post. The entries are related to favorite battles using a specific card or talk about anything Splinterlands related for the week.
The idea in this approach is to earn upvotes and then convert them into cryptocurrency in the form of Hive and HBD that can then be exchanged for DEC to invest in card purchases.
Back around 2020 when I started blogging about Splinterlands my earnings from the weekly posts were enough for me to convert the rewards into DEC and purchase multiple cards. I would do this consistently over the course of months if not years and over time I was able to at least have 1 bcx of most alpha cards.
Flip Cards In Markets
This method of trying to earn more through buying and selling cards is also a feasible option. With this method we are trying to buy cards at lower $ and sell cards at higher $.
Some of the tools and resources I use to snag deals mainly are found on Splinterlands official discord channel. From there I would be patiently waiting for cards to have at minimum +20% discount from the next highest price.
This approach is very lucrative if one has deep pockets. For instance going through Splinterlands discord channel to find buy in bulk deals. Then sell the cards individually but with a slight markup. Do this long enough to get profits in DEC and used the to purchase cards for the long term.
Conclusions
There are multiple ways to yield more cards in Splinterlands. I just listed 3 options that can be done quite easily. Yet I have not taken into account for the rewards we can earn by playing the game.
There is ever more reasons why we all should continue upgrading collections as the developers have remain steed fast to reward the most and the best to those who invested their time and or money into the game. Higher leagues in rankings will yield more rewards. All this makes it more the reason to build my collection.
