I have come to understand statistics and data analysis as a way to convey to readers the narrative the writer wants to illustrate rather than always the truth. Government manipulating how jobs data is produce in order to illustrate a specific narrative is why it can't be trusted at face value. From this post I genuinely think we agree on these points.
