The best time of the year in Las Vegas, NV is NFR week!
It is the absolute best because the NFR Rodeo is here, and its been here since 1985!

This is where it all counts, the National Finals Rodeo! The best of the best from bull riders, team ropers, steer wrestlers, barrel racers, and bronc riders all converge on Las Vegas for the SUPERBOWL of rodeo! The country bars around town always have awesome entertainment booked, autograph meet and greets, and awesome post rodeo parties too! If you are a rodeo fan, this is the ONLY place to be! One of the most famous rodeo after parties is called the Buckin Ball! If you like country music, two-stepping, line dancing, and drinking this is the spot for you!

My personal favorite is the team roping! One athlete is called the header, and ropes the horns. The other athlete is the heeler, and ropes the back legs! It is super exciting, and in part because I have dabbled in roping myself. Here is a picture of a team roping! Check it out!

An abundance of country music stars give numerous live performances throughout this week at casinos all over the city FOR FREE! Some the main places to stop for these free shows are The Mirage, The Orleans, The Tropicana, and country bars all over the city.

Another reason why this particular week is so awesome is COWBOY CHRISTMAS!
This is held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, where there are thousands of country western vendors set up and selling! If you like rustic, western, country decor, clothing, footwear, saddles, etc. this is the place for you! If you are ever in town during NFR you have to check these events out! Trust me, you won't regret it!
CAN WE PUT NEVADA ON THE MAP NOW!? Top that ya'll lol :)

Here are a couple pics of Cowboy Christmas:
