I agree entirely, It's a religious edifice, because statism/government/murica is a religion.
One way of rating religions is to look at the way they treat unbelievers/apostates; like people who don't believe they need holy sanction to drive a car, or people who don't believe they should wait for permission before moving from one diocese/parish to another.
Democracy is a faith; are you losing faith in it? If Trump's a monster, and democracy made him your president, maybe it's time to reconsider.
