We have just finished the basic number sense part for 3rd grade math. Today we are going to start with very easy and new concept of addition facts. Addition is very basic math concept of combining the number of objects in one or more than one group.
By practicing addition facts child develop a great confidence in doing other math operations such as subtraction, multiplication and division. In this post there are two worksheets to practice basic addition facts of zero and one.
I encourage parents to teach addition facts in daily life. For example; put one cookie in a plate and ask your child about how many cookies in the plate. Then add another cookie in the plate and ask the same question. This example illustrate the most basic math addition fact of "1" which is 1 + 1 = 2. You can use oranges, grapes or other fruits to practice.
