Introduction to Basic Division in 3rd Grade Math

Division is fourth most basic math operation after addition, subtraction and multiplication. Kids get ready to learn division in grade 3 once they got times-tables.

Basically division is sharing objects and is inverse of multiplication. For example if there are 6 apples in a basket and there are 3 kids who want to share these apples equally, this is a very basic division problem. Each kid will get 2 apples. We will discuss the basic vocabulary of multiplication and division once we finish learning about basic division.
