Comparing and Ordering Fractions with Same Numerators but Different Denominators

When two or more fractions have the same numerators but different denominators we can compare and order them very easily. The trick is that the fraction with the smallest denominator will be the greatest. 

Why is this so? 

As we know that denominator represents the total number of parts of a whole and bigger denominator means same whole has been divided into more parts and as a result each part gets smaller.
