I really wonder who buys those top tier tickets. They do have a lot of variety to get around.

In my students days I was living in Kyoto. When I wanted to go to Tokyo the train was too expensive for me. There were maybe like 20 different options for busses. You can pick type chair, type bus, heating, aircon etc. Going down to the bear necessaties of something with wheels, hard chairs and being packed like sardines I could get a ticket for about 15 euros :D
