In 1666, Sir Isaac Newton first recorded the fact that, when visible light was passed through a prism, it was split to produce a continuous spectrum of rainbow colours that contained all the wavelengths of light.

You are not going to get all wavelengths of light. A prism refracts light. Microwaves are not going to appear when you refract light from the sun using a prism :P
